Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2002 <br /> K& S GAS & GROCERY <br />' 701 East Charter Way, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Khaldoon Othman of K & S Grocery, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br />' (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 701 East Charter Way,Stockton, <br /> California The scope of work Included a quarterly ground water monitoring event and preparation <br /> I of this report The site setting is Illustrated in Figure 1 Structures and monitoring well locations are <br /> Illustrated in Figure 2 Background Information is summarized in the AGE-prepared Monitoring Well <br /> Installation Report, dated 02 June 1999 Data from previous ground water monitoring events are <br />' summarized in the tables of this report <br />' 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional <br />' Water Quality Control Board for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> lie 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> On 08 April 2002, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in <br />' monitoring wells MW 1 through MW3 relative to the tops of the well casings (well heads) The <br /> ground water elevations and gradient were determined from these data (Table 1) <br />' After recording water level measurements, disposable polyethylene bailers were used to evacuate <br /> each well of standing water Approximately 3 casing-water volumes were removed from each well- <br />' 10 5 gallons from MW and 7 gallons each from MW2 and MW3 Ground water temperature,pH <br /> and conductivity were measured at regular purge-volume intervals during evacuation using an <br /> Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A Evacuated water was <br />' stored on-site in properly labeled, 55-gallon Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved drums <br /> t2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> The depth to ground water was measured in each well following evacuation to assure a minimum <br /> of 80%recharge prior to sampling Water samples were then collected using new disposable plastic <br /> bailers Each water sample was transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 VOA vials containing <br /> 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative The sample vials were then labeled with the <br />' monitoring well designation, date, time of sampling and the sampler's initials The samples were <br /> • transported in a chilled container under chain of custody to CAL TECH Environmental Laboratories <br /> 1 Advanced GeoEnvlronmental,Inc <br />
