05 November 2005
AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
' Page 4of5
I HU2 - TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in samples MW-8B and MW-913, at maximum
concentrations of 16,000 gg/l TPH-g,7,100 gg/l benzene, 750 µg/1 toluene, 270 gg/l ethylbenzene,
and 1,290 µg/1 xylenes, in sample MW-9B
IThe fuel additives TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in samples MW-813 and MW-913 at maximum
concentrations of 84 pg/1 and 38 gg/l, respectively, in sample MW-9B
HU4-TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in samples MW-8C and MW-9C,the maximum
concentrations were detected in sample MW-9C at 4,600 µg/l TPH-g, 2,100 µ.g/1 benzene, 73 µg/1
' toluene, 34 µg/1 ethylbenzene, and 99 gg/l xylenes
The fuel additive TAME was detected in sample MW-8C at 7 2 gg/l, and 1,2-DCA was detected in
samples MW-8C and MW-9C at 4 1 µg/1 and 16 µg/1, respectively
HU6-TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in samples MW-8D and MW-9D,the maximum
concentrations were detected in sample MW-9D at 12,000 µg11 TPH-g. 8,100 gg/l benzene,
1,100 µg/1 toluene, 300 µg/l ethylbenzene, and 1,450 µg/1 xylenes
f • The fuel additives TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in samples MW-81)and MW-913 at maximum
concentrations of 120 µg/land 71 µg/1
' No additional analytes were detected at or above the laboratory reporting limits in the samples
analyzed Analytical results are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report (CTEL Project No
' CT214-0509186),quality assurance/quality control report, and chain of custody forms are presented
in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable format(EDF)
files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are provided in Appendix D
1
4.4. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
' • The ground water elevations on 21 September 2005 ranged from 20 86 feet to 22 48 feet
below MSL, the net flow direction of first-encountered ground water was inferred to be
toward the south at a gradient of 0 005 ft/ft or less, which is consistent with the historical
' flow direction at this site
• TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected In ground water samples collected from all
' HUs, the highest concentrations were detected in HU 1 The fuel additive MTBE was
detected only in HU1, whereas TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in all HUs
rAdvaneed GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
