Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2005
• K& S GAS & GROCERY
701 East Charter Way, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Swaran Chouhan,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared this
Iquarterly report for the property located at 701 East Charter Way, Stockton, California The scope
of work included the performance of a quarterly ground water monitoring event and preparation of
this report The site and surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 Orn-site structures and
' monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Additional site background information is
summarized in Appendix A
' At the present time, there are six monitoring well locations at the site, four locations contain single-
level wells (MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-7), and two contain multi-level wells (MW-$[A-D]
through MW-9[A-D])consisting of four perforated and screened well chambers in a seven-chamber
casing(Continuous Multichannel Tubing CMT) The screened intervals of the wells were set within
discrete depth intervals to monitor ground water for vertical and lateral changes in hydraulic
gradient, contaminant concentrations, and migration directions The discrete depth intervals correlate
to selected hydrostratigraphic or hydrogeologic units, defined on the basis of lithologic and
hydrologic information provided by cone penetrometer testing(CPT)and soil boring advancement,
as detailed in the AGE-prepared Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2004, dated 12 January 2005,
Cone Penetrometer Testing Report-February 2001, dated 19 June 2001 and Cone Penetrometer
Testing Report-November 2001, dated 25 March 2002
' Based on the site assessments listed above, AGE has identified seven hydrogeologic units (HUs)
HU 1 (water table zone),HU3,HU5 and HU7 generally consist of fine-grained soils with occasional,
' discontinuous sand lenses, HU2, HU4 and HU6 are sand units The site monitoring wells are
screened in HU 1 (water table zone) and the three sand units (Table 2)
2.0. PROCEDURES
IThe quarterly ground water monitoring event was performed on 16 March 2005,utilizing monitoring
wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-7 through MW-9 Field work was performed in accordance
' with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)
for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites
' 21 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
' On 16 March 2005,the depth to ground water in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-7
• through MW-9 were measured from the top of each well casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a
Solinst water level meter Ground water elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the
' Advanced GeoEnnronmental,Inc
