i16 February 2005
AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
IPage 5 of 5
• The ground water elevations in HU I wells(water table)on 23 September 2004 ranged from
22 89 feet to 23 28 feet below MSL,the net ground water flow was inferred to be toward the
south to southwest at a gradient of approximately 0 004 ft/ft
• TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from all
HUs, but the fuel additives MTBE and 1,2-DCA were detected mostly in HU1 D1PE was
detected in samples from HU2 and HU4 Laterally, the highest concentrations of
contaminants in HU1 were centered around the tank-pit and dispenser areas (Figures 4
and 5), vertically, TPH-g and BTEX compounds exhibited decreasing concentrations with
Increasing depth
• The vertical extent of ground water contamination may be influenced by downward, vertical
ground water flow between HU 1 and HU2, HU2 and HU4, and HU4 and HU6
• The lateral and vertical extents of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water have not
been defined
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
1 • Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends continuation of the quarterly ground
water monitoring program The next monitoring event was performed in December 2004
' To date, AGE has installed three of the eight monitoring wells proposed in the AGE-prepared
Additional Monitoring Wells Work Plan, dated 26 July 2002,these three were on-site wells Off-site
' monitoring wells will be installed pending resolution of permitting and bond issues
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing In this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
' conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (l e , ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
interpretations, opinions, and recommendations contained In this report
0
' Advanced GeoEnrironmental,Inc
