Schneider <br /> Environmental Health Specialist <br /> Subject: Addendum to Work Plan for Supplemental Soil and Groundwater Investigation <br /> GASCO Gasoline Station, 749 East Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> Exceltech Project No. 3-30054-31 <br /> Dear Mr. Schneider: <br /> Exceltech, Inc., is submitting this addendum changing the above referenced work plan as <br /> discussed in our phone conversation of March 25 , 1991 . During the conversation, three <br /> modifications ( 1 addition and 2 changes) were discussed as detailed below. <br /> 1 . Addition to Exploratory Drilling Section : <br /> During the drilling operations, care will be taken to note occurrences at clay layers which <br /> may represent aquitards. If such layers are encountered, the Environmental Health <br /> Division (EHD) of the San Joaquin County, Public Health Services will be contacted prior <br /> to installation of the groundwater monitoring well. <br /> 2 . Change to Groundwater Monitoring Well Construction Section: <br /> The screened interval will not exceed 20 feet in length and will extend from 45 feet <br /> (currently installed wells which extend to 50 feet are now dry , EHD requests a 5 -foot <br /> overlap between existing wells and proposed wells) to approximately 65 feet. If <br /> groundwater is not encountered at this depth or if in the opinion of the on-site Exceltech <br /> geologist, sufficient penetration of the aquifer has not occurred, the EHD will be contacted <br /> prior to continuing the boring beyond 65 feet. <br /> 3 . Chance to Groundwater Monitoring Well Construction Section: <br /> Approximately 3 feet of bentonite pellets will be placed on top of the sand pack and <br /> hydrated to act as a seal. <br /> We trust that these modifications meet with your approval .
