CALIFORNIA GEOPHYSICAL GROUP , INC .
P. O . USA Service Station
749 E . Charter Way
Stockton , CA
Site No . 1060
JI On January 10, 2000 , the EHD sent a letter requesting further work at this site. This work plan will
define the work.
On August 5, 1999, we reported the drilling of two wells . One of the wells VW-7 was drilled to a
depth of 80 feet in order to define the depth of contamination . Unfortunately, the contamination at
80 feet was 24 ug/Kg of Benzene , 43 ug/Kg of Ethyl-benzene, 94 ug/Kg of xylene and 5. 9 mg/Kg
of TPH . San Joaquin County requires that two samples taken 5 feet apart have non-detectable
readings in order to define the depth of contamination . The San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has requested another boring drilled near
well VW-7 to define the contamination below 80 feet.
We are planning to drill one boring to a depth at about 100 feet. The boring will be performed by
V&W Drilling , their drilling License Number is C-57-720904. The boring will be performed with a
Geoprobe drilling machine and the boring will be about 1 inch in diameter. Since the boring is
within 10 feet of well VW-7 , we will only log this well below 60 feet. The logging and soil testing
will be performed continuously beginning at 60 feet and extending down to 100 feet if necessary .
The laboratory testing will be performed by Excelchem Environmental Labs of Roseville, CA with
a mobile laboratory. We will test the soil every 5 feet and when 2 samples 5 feet apart are found
to be clean we will abandoned the boring by backfilling it with cement.
The soil will be tested as follows :
Tests Chemicals Detection Limits
Soil EPA 8020 BTEX 5 ug/Kg
Soil EPA 8015M TPH 1 mg/Kg
i
The Health and Safety Plan will remain the same as in the previous Work Plans. The attached
protocols will be followed .
County
