r
the next quarterly measurements are taken.
1
In a discussion with a county health inspector, he stated the BP
Station catty cornered to our site in a southeasterly direction
had drilled and obtained a water sample sometime ago. The
1 sample had non-detectable readings for fuel . This indicates the
plume zero line is somewhere between our site and the BP site.
Groundwater remediation should be designed to draw back the
groundwater from under Charter Way to assure the water is
r decontaminated.
The presence of a high amount of contaminant in the water in BM-7
is of interest. The source of site contamination appears to be r '
1
in the area of the old excavation. This excavation is located
well within the northeast gradient and contamination from this fir{
area could not have migrated to the BM-7 area. We believe future
measurements will define the reason for the high concentrations
in the BM-7 area.
Well BM-6 is the up gradient well at present and yet it contains
some contamination. No soil contamination have been found on the
1 north side of this site either in the vadose zone or the
capillary fringe, therefore, the reason for this contamination is
not clear.
1 Drill Cutting
The drill cuttings from BM-7 and BM-8 tested to have only minor
amounts of contamination and we request this soil be permitted to
be disposed of as ordinary waste. The soil in boring B-1 will be
assessed and we will present an volatilization plan to the Air
Quality Control district. Copies of the permit request will be
supplied to you.
1
Page 7
1
