CALIFORNIA GEOPH%ICAL GROUP, INC.
P.O. Box 691, Poway, CA 92074 Tei: (619) 486-1323
1 of 8 Pages FAX: (619) 6-4 36
WORK PLAN
FOR PITUY11
OASCO SERVICE STATION
749 E CHARTER WAY
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA .SUN 11, 5 199 i
March 18, 1993
SITE HISTORY ENV1f20NM1 NTAL HEALTH
PERMI I SERVICES
On November 14, 1989 three underground tanks were removed from
the site in accordance with the Tri-Regional regulations
'resting of the soil samples taken around the old tanks
indicated the site had been contaminated with gasoline
The excavation site was backfilled with the original soil plus
soil from a new excavation The site was then remodeled and
placed back in service
A work plan for assessing the contamination of the site was
sent to the the San Joaquin Health Department of Dec. 29, 1989
The plan was accepted and a special well permit was issued on
Jan 19, 1990
Drilling and sampling according to the work plan began on Jan
22, and finished on Jan 26, 1990. A Site Assessment report was
submitted to San Joaquin County Health an February 9, 1990 On
October 1 , 1990 we beganquarterly sampling, by that time the
water table had dropped below the bottom of the wells and has
remained so to this time
In April 1992, we dralled three additional wells at the site
into the water table The results of this work were reported
in our Site Assessment of April 30, 1992
SCOPE OF WORK
The previous borings have confirmed that the unsaturated zone
is clean beyond wells 2, 3 and 6 All of the other wells have
soil contamination All of the well water tested has been
contaminated This drilling program is designed to define for
the most part the zones of contamination in both the soil and
the water.
Attached you will find Fig . 1 showing the locations of boring
L-1 and wells BW-7 and BW-8 Boring B-1 will be drilled to
this capillary fringe soil testing and logging will take place
with cores obtained every 5 feet. The purpose of this well is
to define the soil contamination south of the old tank pit.
Well BW--7 is located as far up gradient as we can get and
remain on our property. We do not expect to find any soil
contamination in this well and we expect the groundwater to be
clean WP hope this well will define the western limits of
groundwater and capillary fringe contamination
