unknown people placing gasoline in well BM-5 The rest of the wells do not contain any ' MtBE The TBA was more pervasive and we prepared a contoured plot of the concentrations in Figure 4 The highest level found was in well BM-3 and the remainder of the TBA contaminated wells are side or downgradient of this well The present tanks are located near BM-3, however, the TPH and Benzene in this well are low see Figures 2 and 3 The new tanks have alarm sensors to detect leaks No sensor alarms have been reported at this station The migration from upgradient sites is possible as can be seen in Figure 2 where the benzene is very high in well BM-9 and, because of dilution, the TBA was under 200 ug1L We reported in January it was 38 ug/L The amount of TBA found in BM-3 is 2500 ug/L At present we are unable to state where this substance came from VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM The site has been under remediation since July 1997 The weekly readings of the entering vapor stream are listed on Table 5 and shown on Figure 4 The vapor contamination stream is slowly falling At present the system is not operating due to l certain parts which have been ordered and not received A total of 39,560 pounds of gasoline has been removed since the beginning of this project Prior to the downtime of the system, the extracted vapor amount went down to 15 78 pounds per day This amount has been reduced from 29 15 pounds per day This reduction is indicated by the lower amounts of contamination in the groundwater Conclusions ' We will continue to monitor this site The next monitoring event will take place in October 1998 We met with the Ms Carol Oz of the EHD of San Joaquin County and discussed the need for further work A work plan if being prepared and will be submitted ' Yours truly, �SZERED Gfpl /John Cussen �,,4��H c 00 RG #6506 Na 65% ' Enclosures 7 Tables *, 5 Figures oxc�uaFo ' 2 Laboratory Reports and Cham of Custody's 11 Sample Sheets i
