sample vials with the proper amount of Hydrochloric Acid in each
bottle, so no further acid or any other chemical should be added
' to the water. The bottles will be placed on ice in a cooler and
' kept on ice until delivered to the lab or turned over to their
courier within 48 hours of the sampling time.
Purged water will be placed in a sealed drum and left at the
site. The drums will be labeled for the source of the water.
After the chemical analyses are completed the contamination in
each drums will be assessed. If the chemical analyses of the
water in a drum shows the water to be free of contamination then
this water will be disposed of as clean water. Contaminated water
will be removed from the site by a licensed waste hauler.
Water samples will be taken from the water at or near the surface
of the water table, unless otherwise indicated. The containers
will be filled so that zero headspace is present in the sealed
vial before placing in the cooler. Trip blanks will accompany
all sample containers . A Chain of Custody will be filled out by
the sampler. The tests run will be as follows :
' Test Detection
Limits
' DHS TPH Method (Gasoline)/(Diesel) 50 ug/L
EPA 602 for
Benzene 0 .5 ug/L
Toluene 0 . 5 ug/L
Ethyl. Benzene 0 . 5 ug/L
Xylenes 0 . 5 ug/L
All laboratory results, well measurements and the Chain of
Custody must be sent to our office for evaluation and the
preparation of a report.
i
