1 ' I I i I 41 ' I the laboratory can report The reason for, the MtBE m well BM-1 is known, however, the reason for well BM-3 is only inferred by its migration from well BM-9 I I ' Dissolved oxygen levels were recorded this quarter at this site The levels were I measured with a calibrated YSI model 51 B meter by placing the sensor 5 feet below the surface of the water table after the bailing of the vmlls The measured levels are shown I on Table 3A The'readings of dissolved oxygen are between 1 3 at well BM-3 and 6 8 at ' well BM-7 The oxygen level in BM-7 has been high since we introduced Oxygen Release Compound (ORC) into this well in July 1997 The oxygen level has been falling about 0 6 milligram/ liter each quarter since the ORC was removed in July 1998 1 I� VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM .I. The site has been under remediation since July 1997 A total of 42,549 pounds,of ' gasoline has been removed since the beginning of this project i The vapor extraction was shut down on February 5, 1999 because no BEX chemical was being recovered There is BTEX chemicals below the water table, however, this quarter the water table rose and we are waiting for the water to fall below the level found in January 1999 If the depth of the water table is 33 feet or deeper or the air sparging operation is started Cheri the vapor extraction system will be restarted I � i � • Conclusions t We will continue to monitor this site The next monitoring event will take place in July 1999 i 1 We have received approval from the EHS on January 22, 1999 for the drilling of two wells one for water and the other for vapor extraction The reason we have not started this i project is because we have not completed an easement with Pep Boys Organization We N expect an easement in May or June 1999 Attached is a Hazardous Waste Manifest showing that the purged water was disposed of properly, Yours truly, a I John Cussen � I i { 1 RG #6506 a � II 1 I ` 1 • I , I � I ' i f 1 , I � i I i 1 1 i
