MtBE was detected in wells BM-1, BM-3 and BM-5 TBA (tertiary Butanol) was found in
wells BM-1, BM-3, BM-7, BM-9 and BMA 1 It appears that some of the TBA is entering
this site from the ARCO Station, as are the BTEX and TPH chemicals The MtBE plume
appears to be centered at well BM-3 as it has been in the past since July 1998 We have
' had the tanks and piping of the tanks checked and there were no leaks found
Dissolved oxygen levels were recorded this quarter at this site The levels were
' measured with a calibrated YSI model 51 B meter by placing the sensor 5 feet below the -0
surface of the water table after the bailing of the wells The measured levels are shown
on Table 3A
' As requested in the EHD letter dated January 10, 2000, a plot of the wells and the old and w
new piping runs of the dispenser lines is shown in Figure 6
' VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
This site has been under remediation since July 1997 A total of 46,371 pounds of
' gasoline has been removed since the beginning of this project The system removed 870
pounds this quarter See Table 5
' Conclusions
We will continue to monitor this site The next monitoring event will take place in January
2002
We request that wells BM-6 and BM-8 no longer be sampled during the quarterly
' monitoring These wells are located next to wells BM-2 and SM-13, which are shallow
wells where the water is sampled from the surface to 45 feet, where as BM-6 and BM-8
are deep wells and samples are taken from water which is below 45 feet
Attached is a non-Hazardous waste Manifest for the removal for purge well water
Yours truly, '
n S, ED
Cuss
' John Cussen
RG #6506 .
9 OF CALIE P
1
1
