of three calculated casing purge volumes
' Next, the well is resounded to assure that a minimum of 80% water column recharge
has been achieved Once well stabilization has occurred, the well is sampled through
the dedicated discharge tubing Only containers with the appropriate preservatives are
' used to collect these samples All sample containers are provided by a State Certified
Laboratory (pre-preserved voas) All samples are labeled and logged on the Chain of
Custody, then placed on ice in an ice chest until delivered to the laboratory, within 48
' hours The locking cap and lock are put on the top of the casing and then the well
head is closed
Purged water will be stored in a sealed drum and left on site The drums will be labeled
properly After the chemical analyses are completed the contamination in each drum
will be assessed If the chemical analyses of the water shows to be free of
' contamination it will be disposed of properly
CGG has submitted sample blanks, which were pure water and had the voa's tested
and the laboratory results showed no contamination Using a sample blank in the field
' (site) with the waterra system, there is no cross contamination
The objectives for the monitoring program is to quartelry measure the depth of the
' water in the casing from a surveyed reference point of the top of the casing Obtain a
water sample from the water within the slotted casing in each well and have a
laboratory test for the chemicals which the regulator requires
' The purpose of this labor is to inform the consultant and the regulator the direction of
the groundwater flow and its gradient If changes in any of these items, they will be
noted and possible other wells will be needed to define the contamination plume
' If the site is in remediation, this monitoring will keep the consultant and the regulator
informed of the progress of the remediation If the remediation system is not effecting
' part of the site, then modifications will be made to assure that the remediation is
removing the contamination When the remediation is complete and the wells show
acceptable or no contamination, then a closure for the site is requested
