The oxygen, ferrous iron, nitrate and sulfate levels were tested
for in each wells. The results of the laboratory testing are
' shown in Table 3A and the results are contoured in Figures 2, 3
and 4. No figure for nitrates is presented since all of the
results are non-detect. When comparing the results from this
quarter with last quarter, the data is not clear for oxygen and
' sulfate. The ferrous iron graphs indicate the main area of
anaerobic activity is near well 8 and last quarter it was near
well 5. This is expected since this is the center of the
' gasoline plume.
Figure 5 is a graph of the TPH concentration in well BM-11 the
' down gradient well at this site. As can be seen the plume is
expanding down gradient.
'
CONCLUSIONS
The next quarterly monitoring will take place in April , 1997 .
Since the nitrates, sulfates and iron results are not
' contributing to our understanding of this plume, we will only be
checking the dissolved oxygen levels during the next sampling
periods.
' We have submitted an application with PG&E to install the gas
line, which is needed to operate the Thermal Oxidizer.
Hopefully, this will be accomplished this quarter.
We will be modifying the work plan for remediation to take
advantage of a new process which introduces dissolved oxygen into
the groundwater. This amendment will be accompanying this
report.
A Hazardous Waste Manifest is attached showing the removal of the
purged water from the site.
Yours truly,
L
tk C
o
John Cussen +' ""'
' Reg.
