of contamination is from the Exxon. Gasso site across the street.
During the three months between the March & June measurements,
the water table has risen almost 2. 5 feet, and slightly over 4
feet since last October. If residual contamination remaining an
the soil was significant, and not locked up in the pore spaces,
it should have been picked up by the water as it rose through the
sediments. Those chemicals should have been detected in the
downgradient well #2. A review of the above data shows that is
not the case. Measured amounts of all tested components in that
well were significantly lower in June compared to March. This
indicates that any residual contamination remaining in the ground
is not soluble, or only at very minor amounts, and should not
impact the groundwater.
In summary, the data recorded to date strongly indicates that the
source of the contamination detected in the water beneath this
property is from an off-site source, which appears to be located
to the north and/or west.
Water level measurements and sampling will be performed again in
September, and a report prepared for the appropriate agencies.
If you wish additional information, please contact our office at
j your convenience.
Since
1
G
Wm. ter & Associates
cc: ank Morita
CVRWQCB, Beth Thayer SER4GFCO
R11A&J.t3tFR
NWO.860
OF CAU
5
