} PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES ,oPau N <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION <br />' Karen Furst, M.D , M P.H , Health Officer <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202 IF:0v <br /> 209/468-3420 <br />' RECEIVED fir ' <br /> FRANK MORITA 0 4 20ft MAY 0 3 2000 - <br /> MORITA BROTHERS <br /> 6622 BELMONT PLACE <br />' STOCKTON, CA 95207 <br /> RE Manta Brothers Site Code 1061 <br /> 814 E Charter Way <br /> Stockton, CA 95206 <br />' San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> has reviewed the Quarterly Monitoring Report (QMR) dated April 17, 2000 prepared by <br /> Geological Technics Inc , for the above referenced site Groundwater samples collected <br />' from Monitoring Wells (MWs) on site evidence continued and increasing concentrations <br /> of contaminants Further investigation of the groundwater at this site is necessary to <br /> determine the vertical and lateral extent of contamination <br /> Installation of additional MWs will be necessary to evaluate groundwater contamination <br /> and migration Placement of down gradient MWs east of MW2 to evaluate shallow and <br />' deep units of the aquifer is recommended PHS/EHD also recommends shallow and deep <br /> screened MWs be placed in the southeastern direction from the source area Additional <br /> MWs may be necessary to define the contaminant plume at the site <br />' Conduct a survey of domestic, municipal, agricultural, industrial and an other wells <br /> P g Y <br /> within a 2,000-foot radius of this site Contact the Department of Water Resources, <br />' municipal water suppliers and nearby industries for well information In addition, <br /> perform a physical search of the area to identify any wells On a map with appropriate <br />' scale show the site, the area within a 2,000-foot radius of the site, and the locations of all <br /> the wells identified within that area Submit the well address locations as they correlate <br /> to the map and submit any known construction details of the wells (if available) <br />' Evaluate the influence of well pumping with respect to the migration of the <br /> contamination from this site A survey of any other potential conduits should also be <br /> conducted <br />' Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring at this site until otherwise instructed by <br /> PHS/EHD The water from these MWs should be analyzed for Benzene, Toluene, <br /> Ethylbenzene and Xylenes using EPA Method 8020 and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br /> . as gasoline using EPA Method 8015 Groundwater samples should also be analyzed for <br /> 1,2 DCA, ethanol, methanol, and Oxygenates using EPA Method 8260 Some <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br /> r <br />
