(GeoAudit) has drilled one soil boring at 939 West Charter Way in
Stockton, California (the site). The investigation was performed at the direction of the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Heath Division (PHS/EHD). The
purpose of the investigation was to assess if impacted soil is present at the site. This report
describes the activities performed in December 1994 and presents the results of this
investigation. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. A plan of the site is
illustrated in Figure 2.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Location
The site is located in a flat industrial area of southwest Stockton in San Joaquin County,
California. Specifically, the site is located on the northwest corner of the int;:rsection of
West Charter Way and Navy Drive (Figure 1). Interstate. 5 is located approximately 1.5
blocks east of the site.
2.2 UST Removal
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon regular gasoline underground storage tank
(UST) was removed from the property in May 1989. Petroleum hydrocarbon odors and soil
discoloration were noted during tank removal. A soil sample was collected from beneath the
UST by FGL Environmental. The sample was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH as gasoline), volatile aromatics (BTE&X), lead and ethylene dibromide (EDB).
TPH as gasoline was detected in the soil sample from the UST removal at 14 parts per
million (ppm); benzene was detected at 8.6 ppm; EDB was detected at 0.27 ppm; and lead
was detected at 8 ppm.
y
0-6,i.1 Audi,UM..,I... 1
N—W.i 939 PIER/1037/D.1994
