r <br /> f <br /> • 13 August 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 02-0962 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities, <br /> • Soil/grab ground water sample collection and analysis, <br /> S <br /> • Report preparation <br /> r <br /> The preliminary site assessment tasks are discussed below <br /> 3 1 PRE-FIELD WORK TASKS <br /> A health and sdfety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) <br /> Prior to mobilization, the area of excavation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert <br /> • 3 2 SOIL/GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> AGE proposes to advance six probe borings using direct push technology in the area of the former <br /> piping and fuel dispensers, to assess for petroleum hydrocarbon- and/or MTBE-impacted soil and <br /> ground water beneath the site All of the borings will be advanced to depths of 30 feet (bsg), the <br /> proposed probe boring locations may be modified due to field observations As each boring is <br /> advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg and extending to <br /> the total depth of the probe boring <br /> The proposed probe bonng locations are illustrated in Figure 2 Field procedures for advancement <br /> of probe bonngs and collection of soil/grab ground water samples are presented in Sections 4 1 and <br /> 42 <br /> .. s <br /> Selected soil/grab ground water samples from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory <br /> analysis The selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California bepartment of Health <br /> Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for one or more the following constituents <br /> • TPH-g TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M, <br /> • BTEX,MTBE,DIPE,ETBE,MTBE, TAME,TBA,ethanol, and methanol by EPA Method <br /> 8260B <br /> i <br /> r r <br /> Advanced GeoEnvrronmental,Inc <br />
