r f • 13 August 2003 AGE-NC Project No 02-0962 Page 3 of 5 • Permitting and pre-field work activities, • Soil/grab ground water sample collection and analysis, S • Report preparation r The preliminary site assessment tasks are discussed below 3 1 PRE-FIELD WORK TASKS A health and sdfety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to mobilization, the area of excavation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert • 3 2 SOIL/GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS AGE proposes to advance six probe borings using direct push technology in the area of the former piping and fuel dispensers, to assess for petroleum hydrocarbon- and/or MTBE-impacted soil and ground water beneath the site All of the borings will be advanced to depths of 30 feet (bsg), the proposed probe boring locations may be modified due to field observations As each boring is advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg and extending to the total depth of the probe boring The proposed probe bonng locations are illustrated in Figure 2 Field procedures for advancement of probe bonngs and collection of soil/grab ground water samples are presented in Sections 4 1 and 42 .. s Selected soil/grab ground water samples from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis The selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California bepartment of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for one or more the following constituents • TPH-g TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M, • BTEX,MTBE,DIPE,ETBE,MTBE, TAME,TBA,ethanol, and methanol by EPA Method 8260B i r r Advanced GeoEnvrronmental,Inc
