e
Dante John Nomellini
Page 2
The monitoring wells at this site are constructed so that the groundwater level is at rimes above the
screened section of the wells. This type of construction may be contributing to the inconsistent
groundwater sample results and may also have an impact on free product recovery. In addition, the
twenty feet of water in the wells at this site may have a diluting effect on the water sample results.
Future monitoring wells should be constructed so the screened interval of the casing exists well above
first water and that about ten feet of water exists in the well. Thus water sample results and water level
readings will be representative of site conditions.
Removal of the free product found on the water table should be a priority for this site. A work plan
addressing the immediate removal and disposal of the free product should be submitted to this office.
The local fire department should be notified prior to removal.
Please submit the above mentioned work plan and a work plan to investigate the full extent of the soil
and groundwater contamination to this office by March 12, 1992.
If there are any questions, please contact, Linda Turkatte, REHS, at (209) 468-0339.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.Y.H.
Health Officer
Eaurae A.
