Mike Infurna [EH]
From : Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, July 11 , 2007 1 :48 PM
To : 'rmarty@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: RE: 1045 Charter
Margaret and Nuel will review the site info and get back to me to compare notes. Once in agreement, we will
schedule.
i Week of the 23 is the soonest. .maybe be the week after.
The political junk flying around here lately is thick . . .
From : Robert Marty [mailto : rmarty@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Wednesday, July 11, 2007 9:28 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: 'bill; adeicke@advgeoenv.com
Subject: RE: 1045 Charter
It's my understanding that Dante WANTS to do remediation -- lie wants us to get moving !
However, the hold up NOW is the destruction of the wells that freaks Dante out. I'm assuming
this is Nuel 's doing. Furthermore, it's my understanding that it was Nuel who stepped in and
indicated " no remediation witil site is assessed" . Frankly, that is B . S . We -- Nuel included --
need to be much more PRAGMATIC about this. We are NEVER going to clean up the
contamination off-site -- ain't gonna happen, not feasible. There is no reason we could not begin
remediation ON-SITE (perhaps dual-phase??? Ozone???) while continuing, down the road, with
the " final " assessment. I thunk Dual-Phase is our best bet here -- it will certainly TREAT
contamination at the site ! I'm with you --- let's do SOMETHING here. I agree. Bill agrees.
To be clear, Dante is not against remediation -- he's very concerned about taking out wells that
are not cross-contaminating aquifers; remember, we are not screened across aquifers -- we are
only screened across (arbitrary) Hydrogeologic Units (not Hydrologic Units, as I have seen some
E people use) . In fact, it is often that more than one "unit" is contributing water to a well. I guess I
could go on, but its probably better suited for a debate over drinks ., , ,
Anyway, I believe that you have a similar opinion; now that you say this, I'm going to make
every effort to be at the meeting .
s
Thanks,
Robert E.
