Additional Site Assessment Work Plan
NOMELLINI CONSTRUCTION CO.
1045 West Charter Way, Stockton, California
1 .0. INTRODUCTION
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this work plan for the installation of deep-
zoned ground water monitoring wells to further assess the lateral and vertical delineation of
hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater originating from 1045 West Charter Way, Stockton, California
(the site) and also includes the details of a pilot study for the evaluation of remedial options. The
location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 . A plan ofthe site is illustrated on Figure 2. Background
information and a summary of previous investigation at this site including historical analytical soil
analysis is included as Appendix A. Well construction details are included in Table 1 .
The enclosed work plan is in accordance with three directive letters from the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD) dated 01 May, 08 June and 27 July 2007 (Appendix B).
The following scope of work was requested by the EHD during a meeting held on 24 July 2007 at
their offices. In the most recent letter, EHD directed the installation of three deep-screened ground
water monitoring wells and the performance of pilot tests to determine remedial alternatives.
Additionally, EHD requested a discussion of the hydrogeological units depicted and discussed in
previous site-specific technical reports; the evaluation of the site hydrogeology reduced the number
of functional ground water zone for future assessment and remediation evaluations (Appendix C).
EHD also requested an estimation mass of contaminants remaining in the soil and ground water at
the site. The mass evaluation determination included as Appendix D represented a shallow, intense
hydrocarbon impact within the upper soil section, with an extensive and diffused plume margin;
generally the core of the soil plume (upper 30 feet of the section) represented the majority of the
mass remaining on the site. Finally, a proposed sampling plan is presented for the site ground water
monitoring and remedial well network (Appendix E).
This work plan for investigation and corrective action assessment of hydrocarbon-impacted ground
water and soil has been prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
This work plan provides a scope of work and procedures for the installation of three deep-screened
ground water monitoring wells (screened from 95 to 105 feet bsg) to further characterize the vertical
extent of impacted ground water, allow for a determination of general ground water flow direction
at depth, aid to delineate lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water and the
performance of a dual-phase soil-vapor/ground water extraction (DPE) pilot study.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
