Table 7-4: Owner/Operator tank inspection checklist (from Appendix F of 40 CFR part 112). <br />I. <br />Check tanks for leaks, specifically looking for: <br />A. <br />Drip marks; <br />B. <br />Discoloration of tanks; <br />C. <br />Puddles containing spilled or leaked material; <br />D. <br />Corrosion; <br />E. <br />Cracks; and <br />F. <br />Localized dead vegetation. <br />II. <br />Check foundation for: <br />A. <br />Cracks; <br />B. <br />Discoloration; <br />C. <br />Puddles containing spilled or leaked material; <br />D. <br />Settling; <br />E. <br />Gaps between tank and foundation; and <br />F. <br />Damage caused by vegetation roots. <br />III. <br />Check piping for: <br />A. <br />Droplets of stored material; <br />B. <br />Discoloration; <br />C. <br />Corrosion; <br />D. <br />Bowing of pipe between supports; <br />E. <br />Evidence of stored material seepage from valves or seals; and <br />F. <br />Localized dead vegetation. <br />7.6 Documentation Requirements and Role of the EPA Inspector <br />When evaluating the SPCC Plan the EPA inspector will need to review the scope of the inspection <br />program identified in the Plan and determine whether the facility owner/operator is implementing the program <br />as described. Additionally, if there have been any changes or alterations to bulk storage containers at the <br />facility, the EPA inspector will need to identify whether those alterations were performed in accordance with <br />industry standards and whether additional evaluations were conducted and documented. <br />SPCC GUIDANCE FOR REGIONAL INSPECTORS 7-51 <br />December 16, 2013 <br />
