The hydrocarbon mass removed during the SVE operating period was calculated using the following
equation M = C•Q•t
' where M = cumulative mass recovered (kg)
C = vapor concentration (kg/m3)
Q = extraction flow rate (m3/hr)
t= operational period, in hours
' Between 01 April 2000 and 30 June 2000 (second quarter 2000), the SVE unit operated a total of
2.,184 hours The average TPH-g analytical results (approximately 160 ,ug/l) of the SVE air flow
samples (Table 3), average flow rates (approximately 44 cfm, Table 5) and the operational period
' were used to calculate the approximate mass of extracted gasoline during these periods
During the second quarter 2000, the mass of hydrocarbons extracted from the SVE system was
calculated to be approximately 57 6 pounds, or equivalent to a volume of 9 21 gallons of gasoline
Added to the estimated 35 31 pounds of hydrocarbons extracted from the SVE system since
15 February 2000, the total mass of hydrocarbons extracted to date is approximately 92 91 pounds,
' or approximately 15 gallons The mass/volume calculations for extracted hydrocarbons are in
Appendix F A plot of the cumulative volume (gallons) of hydrocarbons extracted to date is in
Appendix E
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1 t 3
