' Artesian Environmental Consultants 2
' ANALYTIC RESULTS
Groundwater samples from monitor wells MW-4, MW-5 and MW-6 for the
November 23, 1993 event were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPH-g) by modified EPA Method 8015, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and
total xylenes (BTEX)by EPA Method 8020 Detection limits for TPH-g were 50
' micrograms per liter(gg1L) Detection limits for BTEX compounds were 0 5 gg1L
One gg1L is approximately one part per billion (ppb)
The analytic results for all sampling events including this round of sampling, are
' summarized in Table 2 Laboratory reports with quality assurance/quality control
documents are included in Appendix C The chain-of-custody form is included as
Appendix D
'
COMMENTS
' The groundwater flow direction for the November 23, 1993 sampling event was to
the east-northeast, which is similar to the east-southeast flow direction of the August
18, 1993 sampling event
' Groundwater monitor wells MW-4 and MW-6 contained TPH-g at levels of 22,000
and 11,000 gg/L,respectively Monitor well MW-4 contained benzene, toluene, ethyl
benzene, and total xylenes at levels of 4,400 gg/L, 3,300 gg/L, 290 gg/L and 2,000
gg/L, respectively MW-6 contained BTEX compounds at levels of 1,000 gg/L, 450
gg/L, 200 gg/L, and 640 gg/L, respectivly Levels of TPH-gas and BTEX were
below detection limits in MW-5
1 Monitor well MW-2 was found to contain 0 28' of a floating hydrocarbon product, as
measured by an oil-water interface probe Approximately 1 liter of floating free
' product was removed from the passive skimmer installed in monitor well MW-i
None of the other monitor wells contained measurable amounts of floating product or
hydrocarbon sheen
I
I
3175 Kerner Blvd, Suite 8• San Rafael, CA 94901 • (415) 257-480I -FAX (415) 257-4805
