1
' ANALYTIC RESULTS
' Groundwater samples from monitor wells MW-1 through MW-6 from the November,
1992 event were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPH-g) and
total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d) by modified EPA Method 8015 and
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020 The
' analytic results for all sampling events, including this round of sampling, are
summarized in Table 2 The chain-of-custody form and laboratory reports with quality
assurance/quality control documents are included in Appendix B
'
COMMENTS
' The groundwater flow direction and gradient for the November, 1992 sampling event
was to the northwest The groundwater flow direction for the August, 1992 sampling
event was to the south-southeast direction TPH-g concentrations were detected at
' levels as high as 20,000 ppb in MW-4 The BTEX compounds were detected at levels
as high as 7,600 ppb (in MW-4), 3,100 ppb (in MW-4), 17 ppb (in MW-6) and 2,100
ppb (in MW-4),respectively Due to the dilutions needed, the detection limits for
' ethylbenzene in the samples from MW-3 and MW-4 were 5 and 15 ppb, respectively
The normal detection limit for ethylbenzene is 0 5 ppb
TPH-d was not detected and the diesel analyses will be discontinued in the future As
requested by Ms Linda Turkatte of the San Joaquin County Public Health
Service/Environmental Health Division, lead analyses will be performed during the
sampling event
' Free product was measured in monitor well MW-1 at 0 41 foot thickness Due to
surface obstructions over MW-2 on the during the full duration of the November, 1992
sampling event, MW-2 water depth and product thickness data were not obtained It is
' estimated that MW-2 contains a few inches of free product
' DISTRIBUTION:
Submission to the RWQCB and the local implementing agency should include a copy
' of this report(in its entirety) and a cover letter from the property owner/trustee agent
Four copies of this report have been included for your files and for distribution to the
following agencies
' Public Health Service/Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin County
' 445 N San Joaquin Street
P O Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Ann Ms Linda Turkatte
Central Valley Region
' Regional Water Quality Control Board
3443 Routier Road, Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827-3098
' Attn Ms Elizabeth Thayer
