Artesian Environmental Consultants <br />—0 Page 1 <br />I SUMMARY OF FINDINGS <br />Currently, six groundwater monitor wells exist on the property Based on geologic <br />data collected since February, 1991, Artesian has produced the ten figures in this <br />report to aid in evaluating the vertical and lateral extent of the soil and groundwater <br />contamination <br />BACKGROUND <br />The subject property is located at 1045 West Charter Way in Stockton, California <br />The nearest surface water is the Stockton Deep Water Ship Channel, appioximately <br />one mile to the north (Figure 1) Groundwater in the area is approximately 32 feet <br />below ground surface <br />Three underground storage tanks were removed from the property in August, 1988 <br />(Figure 1) In February, 1991, Klernfelder of Sacramento, California installed three <br />monitor wells, MW -1 through MW -3, on the property (Figure 2) Artesian <br />Environmental Consultants (Artesian) drilled and installed three monitor wells MW -4 <br />through MW -6 in April and May, 1992 (Artesian Subsurface Investigation Report, <br />June, 1992) The six wells were sampled by Artesian for the May, 1992 and August, <br />1992 sampling events Quarterly monitoring reports were subsequently prepared by <br />Artesian <br />SUBSURFACE INTERPRETATION <br />Based on the data obtained during the previous investigations, a map of the <br />distribution of total petroleum hydjocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) in gioundwater for <br />August 21, 1992 (Figure 3) indicates that flee pioduct is located in monrtoi wells <br />MW -1 and MW -2 Dissolved hydiocaibons exist in monitor wells MW -3, MW -4 and <br />MW -6 Monitor well MW -5 does not contain detectable levels of TPH-g in the <br />gi oundwatei <br />The groundwatei elevation contour map by computer (upper diagram on Figure 4) <br />shows that groundwater flow direction during the May 15, 1992 sampling event was <br />generally to the north Please note all the computer contour maps and three <br />dimensional diagrams are generalized and are for illustrative purposes only <br />Groundwater flow direction was generally to the southeast during the August 21, <br />3175 Kerner Boulevard Suite E • San Rafael CA 94901 • (415) 257- 4801 • FAX (415) 257- 4805 <br />
