Artesian Environmental Consultants
—0 Page 1
I SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
Currently, six groundwater monitor wells exist on the property Based on geologic
data collected since February, 1991, Artesian has produced the ten figures in this
report to aid in evaluating the vertical and lateral extent of the soil and groundwater
contamination
BACKGROUND
The subject property is located at 1045 West Charter Way in Stockton, California
The nearest surface water is the Stockton Deep Water Ship Channel, appioximately
one mile to the north (Figure 1) Groundwater in the area is approximately 32 feet
below ground surface
Three underground storage tanks were removed from the property in August, 1988
(Figure 1) In February, 1991, Klernfelder of Sacramento, California installed three
monitor wells, MW -1 through MW -3, on the property (Figure 2) Artesian
Environmental Consultants (Artesian) drilled and installed three monitor wells MW -4
through MW -6 in April and May, 1992 (Artesian Subsurface Investigation Report,
June, 1992) The six wells were sampled by Artesian for the May, 1992 and August,
1992 sampling events Quarterly monitoring reports were subsequently prepared by
Artesian
SUBSURFACE INTERPRETATION
Based on the data obtained during the previous investigations, a map of the
distribution of total petroleum hydjocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) in gioundwater for
August 21, 1992 (Figure 3) indicates that flee pioduct is located in monrtoi wells
MW -1 and MW -2 Dissolved hydiocaibons exist in monitor wells MW -3, MW -4 and
MW -6 Monitor well MW -5 does not contain detectable levels of TPH-g in the
gi oundwatei
The groundwatei elevation contour map by computer (upper diagram on Figure 4)
shows that groundwater flow direction during the May 15, 1992 sampling event was
generally to the north Please note all the computer contour maps and three
dimensional diagrams are generalized and are for illustrative purposes only
Groundwater flow direction was generally to the southeast during the August 21,
3175 Kerner Boulevard Suite E • San Rafael CA 94901 • (415) 257- 4801 • FAX (415) 257- 4805
