INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Dante John Nomellini, ACAanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report for the property at 1045 West Charter Way, Stockton,' <br /> California The report summarizes field work performed at the site during February 1996 ,The <br /> location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map A layout of the property is,depicted in, <br /> Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> This report is prepared in accordance with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control,, <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites ; <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND ' <br /> 2'1 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> x <br /> The site is located at 1045 W Charter Way in an industrial area of southwest Stockton, <br /> approximately one-half mile west of Interstate 5 on West Charter Way (Figure 1) The site is further <br /> described as being located in the northwest quarter of Section 10, Township 1 North, Range 6 East, y <br />' Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M) <br /> Ti t 7 4 <br /> Surrounding land use is light industrial/cdmmercial A truck stop is located immediately east of the = <br />' site, the property immediately west of the site is operated by Sunrise Sanitation (Figure 2) <br />' 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> In August 1988, two 1,000-gallon'USTs were removed from'the site The tanks were used'fo'r the <br />' storage of regular and unleaded gasoline Analytical results of soil samples collected from beneath <br /> the gasoline USTs indicated that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had occurred <br /> Ir " r <br /> The tank area was re-excavated in November 1988 Soil was removed from the former UST area to ` <br /> ,a depth of 19 feet below surface`grade (bsg) Soil samples,were collected from the excavation and <br />' screened for,organic vapors using a photo-ionization detector (PID) Organic vapor readings <br /> indicated that petroleum hydrocarbons were present at deptlis in'excess of 19 feet bsg Therefore, the <br /> excavation was backfilled and a site assessment was performed The tank removal and excavation <br /> procedures were,described by Kleinfeldef in reports dated 22 September 1988 and 14 June 1989 <br /> n <br />
