CHARTER WAY, STOCKTON, CA
Prepared for
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
by
Wm. J Hunter & Associates
December 5, 1995
PURPOSE OF THE WORK
On July 5 & 6, 1995, four (4) groundwater monitoring wells and
four (4) soil borings were placed on the property in order to
determine the extent of soil & groundwater contamination
encountered during prior investigative work on the site The
results of that work, (refer to Wm J Hunter & Associaties
report titled "Interim Report Covering Soil & Groundwater
Investigation" dated August 29 , 1995 for details, ) revealed that
soil samples obtained from the four monitoring wells were below
detection limits for BTEX, TPH-G, TRPH, & Halogenated organics,
(TABLE VIII ) Auger holes "A" & "C" revealed minor amounts of
contamination from soil samples at 61611 , the soil sample at 2616"
from auger hole "All recorded manor levels of BTEX & TPH-G, TRPH &
halogenated organics were below detection limits, (TABLE IX . )
A groundwater sample taken by a hydropunch tool from auger hole
"A" contained high levels of gasoline components, but no TRPH.
The hydropunch sample from auger hole "B" , (an the center of the
removed waste oil tank, ) showed manor amounts of benzene (0 .4
ug/L, ) & xylene (0 . 5 ug/L, ) and 270 ug/L of diesel Refer to
TABLE X for a summary of those analyses The source or sources
of the high levels of gasoline components measured an Auger hole
"A" have not been identified, all known UST' s have been removed
from the property - three tanks which had contained diesel fuel ,
and a waste oil tank
The results of water analyses from the four monitoring wells are
sumamarized on TABLE XI ; they agree in general with the other
data collected.
On September 15 , 1995, the CRWQCB responded to the above report,
and has required that additional investigative work be performed
in order to more fully define the extent of the contamination A
preliminary workplan, dated October 11, 1995 , was prepared to
address that issue A copy of that correspondence as included as
' APPENDIX A. The staff of the CRWQCB has required a more thorough
description of the proposed work, (refer to EXHIBIT A, ) including
locations of future groundwater monitoring wells .
