They will be clearly <br /> identified in the final report . <br /> MONITORING WELLS <br /> The final locations of additional monitoring wells will depend <br /> upon an analysis of the data obtained from the above work <br /> However, based upon the results of work done to date, it is <br /> believed that a minimum of four (4) additional wells will be <br /> required - their suggested locations are shown on PLATE VII It <br /> will be necessary to obtain the required permits from the San <br /> Joaquin County EHD prior to commencing operations We will <br /> provide your office with an addendum to this workplan showing <br /> final locations of the wells & copies of the approved drilling <br /> permits prior to commencing the work <br /> We do not plan to place monitoring wells offsite under this <br /> workplan If such wells are needed, drilling permits, right of <br /> way agreements, conditional use permits, easements, bonds, etc . , <br /> will have to obtained before proceeding It is felt that if that <br /> phase of investigation is required, it is best handled by a <br /> separate workplan, or an addendum to this one <br /> FIELD PROTOCOL & COMPLETION DETAILS FOR PLACING MONTORING WELLS <br /> 1 Mobilize properly licensed auger rig & support truck <br /> Equipment to include sufficient hollow-stem auger flights to <br /> complete each soil boring/monitor well without having to decon- <br /> taminate equipment Depending upon type of coring equipment and <br /> casing size, augers will be either 8 1/41, OD or 10 1/4" OD <br /> 2 Rig will be equipped with either a conventional rod driven <br /> assembly or a wireline operated continuous coring device designed <br /> to hold a standard California Modified split spoon sampler. All <br /> coring equipment will be thoroughly decontaminated between cores <br /> with Alconox or TSP, rinsed with clean tap water, and a final <br /> rinse with distilled or deionized water. Metal tubes used for <br /> con- taming core material will either be new or have been <br /> thoroughly cleaned prior to use . <br /> 3 After retrieving the core barrel, it will be placed on a <br /> clean surface & carefully opened Approximately 4 ounces of the <br /> cored material will be placed in a sealed plastic bag, and set <br /> aside for 5 - 10 minutes to allow any vapors to volatize The <br /> 6 <br />
