Pipe or flexible hose.
7 Soil boring 08, to the east of the shop building, will be
drilled & sampled in the same manner as #6 & #7 down to the water
table. After obtaining a core from the capillary fringe, the
well be advanced to a minimum of 10 feet into the aquifer
preparatory for completing as a groundwater monitoring well .
Recent data indicates that the water table is between 30' & 35'
bgl.
B. After augering operations are completed, and depth to water
has been verified, 2" or 4" internal flush, screw--point blank &
slotted PVC casing will be installed, sand packed, sealed &
grouted as shown on the attached schematic, PLATE XV. The top of
the perforated screen will extend a minimum of 5' above & 10'
below, the water table.
9 The well will be fitted with a preformed surface vault,
thoroughly cemented in place; casing will extend into vault a
sufficient distance to allow installation of an expandable
locking cap. The casing will be notched on the north side to
facilitate measurements. A metal cover rated for heavy traffic
will be securely attached to the vault; it will be properly
identified for future reference.
10. After completion of angering operations, the preserved soil
& water samples will be transported under proper chain of custody
to FGL Environmental laboratory with instructions to analyze soil
samples for BTEX (EPA 8020, ) TPH-G (EPA 5030/8015M, ) TRPH, diesel
& motor oil (EPA 3540/8015M, ) and Halogenated Volatile organics
(EPA 8010. ) Water samples to be analyzed for BTEX (EPA 602, )
TPH-G (EPA 5030/8015M, ) & TRPH (EPA 3510/8015M )
11 Within 18--24 hours after completion, the well will be
developed by swabbing with a hard rubber disc or suitable device
for at least 15 minutes, or as directed. Fluids removed will be
placed in properly labeled drums, securely sealed & stored on
site. Method of disposal of contents will depend upon the
results of laboratory analysis. The responsible regulatory
agency will be notified prior to commencement of operations.
12. As soon as practical after development, the static water
level & amount of free product, if any, will be measured by use
of a electrical multiphase interface probe device. After
determining the effective depth, the well will be purged by
evacuating a minimum of three (3) casing volumes of fluid from
the well. Purging may be accomplished by either (1) bailing by
use of a disposal teflon or reuseable stainless steel bailer; or
(2) pumping by use of a downhole impeller or bladder pump, or a
surface peristatic pump. All equipment will be thoroughly
7
