Charter Way, Stockton. CA
Dear Mr. Weiss,
In response to correspondence from your office dated December 9,
1994, we are submitting a revised workplan (addendum, ) tO expand
the scope of investigative work proposed in our 11/7/1994
workplan at the above property.
We now propose placing four (4) monitoring wells and four (4)
soil borings in an attempt to more fully define the extent of
soil and groundwater contamination encountered on the property.
The approximate locations of the wells and soil borings are shown
on PLATT: Vl _ The locations of monitoring wells #1 & 2 should
determine the westerly extent of possible soil contamination and
provide water quality and gradient data. They should also detect
if there are previously unidentified sources of groundwater con-
tamimation to the west of the property. Monitoring well #3, in a
downgradxent position, should not only give good gradient data,
but also evaluate the possible easterly migration of pollutants
beneath the shop building. Monitoring well #4 is located down--
gradient from the three diesel UST' s recently removed from the
site, which revealed that contamination had reached the water
table at that location. The results of that work is included in
the workplan addendum
Soa..l boring A, west of the maintenance shop & east of monitoring
wells #1 & 2 should determine if soil contamination is present;
it is planned to obtain a discrete water sample by use of a
Hydropunch or BAT tool.
Soil boring B as located in the approximate center of a removed
waste oil tank; measureable amounts of xylene, diesel, & motor
oil were found in a soil sample taken at 10' below the west end
of the tank, refer to TABLES II . III . IV & V for a summary of
those results A water sample will be obtained from this auger
hole if 501-1 contamination indicates the possibility it has
reached groundwater_
Soil borings C & D are located along the product line which
.} connected the diesel tanks to the pump island adjacent to the
shop building It is not planned to obtain water samples from
1
