History of Site The property is located on <br /> Charter Way, appproximately 1/2 mile west of I-5 freeway in <br /> the City of Stockton in San Joaquin County, California The <br /> site is currently operated as a truck terminal and shop for <br /> Independent Trucking Company and Forward Inc The site is <br /> situated within an essentially :industrial area. Nearby <br /> properties are primarily businesses with some residences to <br /> the south and east The overall topography is essentially <br /> flat with a slight fall to the west The property has been <br /> used by various businesses as a truck parking, fueling <br /> station and maintenence facility over the last 40 years <br /> 5 . Project History On October 4, 1994 , a 10 , 000 <br /> gallon, 5 , 000 gallon and 3 , 000 gallon diesel storage tanks <br /> and associated product lines were removed by Jim Thorpe 01.1, <br /> Inc. The tanks were in relatively poor condition. Two soil <br /> samples were taken at depths ranging from 12 to 15 feet in <br /> the tank area, one at the east (TK-2E) and west (TK-2W) ends <br /> of the 10, 000 gallon tank location and the east end (TK-3E) <br /> of the 5, 000 gallon tank. One additional sample was taken <br /> from the area between the ends of the 5, 000 and 3 , 000 gallon <br /> tank (TK3/4) and one from the west end of the 3 , 000 gallon <br /> tank TK-4W) . Six line samples (P1 thru 6) and five spoil <br /> pile samples (SP A, 2B, 3 and composite SP1-A and SP1-B and <br /> SP-1C and SP-1D) were also taken (see attached drawing for <br /> sample locations) Sample results showed TK-2E non <br /> detectable for TPH-diesel and B.T E & X Sample TK-2W showed <br /> 43 ug/Kg Ethyl Benzene, 76 ug/Kg Total Xylene and 6 , 000 mg/kg <br /> TPH-diesel Sample TK-3/4 showed non detectable for B.T E & <br /> X and 320 mg/kg diesel . Sample TK-3E showed non detectable <br /> for B T E & X and 90 mg/kg motor oil Sample TK-4W showed <br />
