Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Andrew Dorn [AndreWD@gtienv.coml
Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 2012 5:06 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Jenny Weese; Ray K9blanow
Subject: Interim Remedial Plan Changes-JM Equipment Site- 1245 W. Charter Way, Stockton
Good Afternoon,
I am contacting you in regards to the interim remedial plan currently being implemented at the JM
Equipment site located at 1245 West Charter Way in Stockton (T0607700794). Due to a limited budget,
GTI would like to request the following changes to the interim remedial plan:
• reduce hydrogen peroxide injections from bi-monthly to monthly in wells IW-1 and IW-3 and b
continue monthly injections in well IW-2.
• postpone the quarterly groundwater monitoring for remedial performance until the 1st quarter
of 2013. Preliminary DO monitoring of observation wells OW-1 (down-gradient of IW-1)and
OW-3(down-gradient of IW-3) has shown a limited rise in oxygen levels(0.58 and 0.21 mg/L on
October 5, 2012, respectively). GTI believes that the short duration of the interim remedial plan
has not allowed the hydrogen peroxide to affect the groundwater monitoring wells and that a
performance monitoring in the 4th quarter would be a waste of the projects limited budget. i
The current budget will allow hydrogen peroxide injections to occur monthly through the remainder of
2012.A change order has been submitted to the Fund requesting additional monies for the continuation
of the interim remedial plan and implementation of the CAP. As additional funds are provided, GTI
anticipates continuing the interim remedial plan and implementing the CAP in the first half of 2013. GTI
is currently preparing the Corrective Action Plan.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Andrew Dorn
4 - Geological Technics Inc.
1172 Kansas Ave
Modesto, CA 95351
(209)522-4119
andrewd@atienv.com
gti@gtienv.com
10/17/2012
