Pagel of 3
idW
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Jenny Weese [JennyW@gtienv.com]
Sent: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 9:07 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: JM Equipment
Thanks Mike - I appreciate you taking the time to give me the SJ County perspective. This is troubling and
concerning times for all. Have a good day,
Jenny Weese
{Operations Director
V
Geological Technics Inc.
1101 7th Street
Modesto, CA 95354
209-522-4119 - phone
209-522-4227 - fax
jennyWegtienv.com
Web Site: gtienv.com
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 9:03 AM
To: Jenny Weese
Subject: RE: JM Equipment
The EHD is formulating a standardized response to the many RPs that have sent
us these concerns.
For the interim, Margaret has asked us to work with our RPs to keep them eligible
with the CUF.
If a RP just stops doing everything without the EHD approval, the RP jeopardizes
his eligibility with the CUF by becoming out of compliance with directives or
requirements to progress towards adequate and complete
investigation/remediation. Even quarterly sampling is a requirement, unless
modified by the EHD. We are advising RPs to request frequency and analyte
reductions to save money on the QMRs/MW sampling events. Quarterly can go to
annual. If gw data indicates ND for some chemicals, then request they be
temporarily d/c. Sample only for COCs with hits above MCLs.....
If a site is enacting a RAP or TRAP, we ask that they continue. Hard on the $$ 1
know, but eventually this situation will stabilize and reimbursement will resume. If a
directive or a due date is out there for a site that hasn't come around, we
recommend the RP request an extension to us in writing. We will most likely
approve extensions up to 120 days...
Mostly, I ask the RPs affected to work with their consultants and come up with a
1/13/2009
