1 <br /> C,eologica,recknics lnc Page 4 <br /> 3"Quarter 2003 Cioundwato Monitoring Report <br /> Project No 507 2 <br /> November 13, 2003 <br /> ' A chain of custody document, listing all samples collected, accompanied the samples from <br /> field to laboratoi y, thei eby providing a means to track the movement of and insure the <br /> ' integitty of the sample% <br /> ' All water purged Isom each monitoring well and not used as a sample was placed in a 55 <br /> gallon DOT approved container These drums were properly labeled and will be stored on <br /> site until then proper disposition can be arranged <br /> Groundwatet monitoiing field logs are included in Appendix C <br /> ' 1.3 Laboratoi y Analyses <br /> The groundwater samples collected on September 11, 2003, were delivered to Sherwood <br /> Labs Coiporation, Depaitmen t of Health Services Certification No 1400, of Hilmar, <br /> California, tot analysts <br /> ' Sherwood Labs analysed the groundwater samples for <br /> • Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene, and Xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 8020 <br /> • Total Petiolcuim llydiocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA method 5030/8015 <br /> o MTBE by EPA Method 8020 <br /> The results and detection limits for the above analyses are listed in Table 3 of Appendix A <br /> while the lab analytical tcsults are presented in Appendix B <br /> ' As iequiied under A132886, the gioundwater elevation and laboratory data were submitted <br /> electionically to GeoTiackei on September 25 and October 31, 2003 - confirmation <br /> numbers 2711005270 & 2717777848 <br /> 2.0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION <br /> The results of the groundwatei sample analyses indicate the following <br /> Y• Wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 remain free of detectable contamination <br /> • MW-4, MW-5 and MW-9 have significant BTEX and TPH-G contamination <br /> • MW-6 and MW-8 have minor TPH-G or BTEX contamination <br />' v Water table well MW-7 did not contain BTEX or TPH-G concentrations above the <br /> laboratoiy reporting; limits but did contain 7 4 pg/l MTBE The well has intermittently <br /> contained MTBE since its installation in May 2001 The source of this contamination <br /> may be surface infiltititton fiom unpaved areas and from the open ditch traversing the <br /> front of the paicel <br />
