' Geolo iralTec/ucccs!►cC Page 4 <br /> g g <br /> Dual Phase Extraction Prot Test Report <br /> Project No 723 2 <br /> November 12,2004 <br />' 2.2 Well Development <br /> ' GTI staff mobilized to the site on February 20, 2004 to develop the three new wells A <br /> Waterra pump system was used to remove silt and water from the small diameter wells All <br /> water purged from each monitoring well was placed in a 55-gallon DOT-approved container <br /> ' These drums are properly labeled and will be stored on site until their proper disposition can <br /> be arranged <br /> ' 3.0 PRE-INJECTION ANALYTICAL TESTING <br /> ' GTI utilized the services of Applied Process Technologies Inc (APT) of Pleasant Hill, <br /> California to develop and conduct the chemical infection portion of the pilot test Pre-test <br /> soil and groundwater sampling was necessary to evaluate the existing conditions in the <br /> subsurface <br /> 3.1 Soil <br /> Soil samples were obtained from depths of 20, 24 and 28 feet bgs in borehole GP-2 during <br /> the installation of the monitoring wells The GeoprobeTM ng advanced a coring tool with a <br /> pneumatic hammer to a selected depth Upon reaching that depth the coring tool was opened <br /> and advanced further to fill the core barrel The soil sample entered an acetate cylinder <br /> t contained in the coring tool Upon filling, the coring tool was pulled from the hole and the <br /> cylinder was removed The cylinder was then cut and the selected interval capped with <br /> Teflon end caps and placed in a cooled ice chest for transport to the laboratory under Chain <br /> ' of Custody protocol <br /> The samples were submitted to Sherwood Labs (Department of Health Services Certification <br /> ' No 1400) of Hilmar, California, for analysis The samples were analyzed for <br /> • Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene and Xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 8020 <br /> • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA method 5030I8015(M) <br /> Two composite samples were also obtained from the GP-2 borehole cuttings These samples <br /> were taken by manually filling 2" brass sleeves from the clayey soils adhering to the auger as <br /> ' they were withdrawn The brass tubes were capped on both ends with Teflon sheets and <br /> plastic caps The sample tubes were then labeled and placed in a cooled ice chest for <br /> ' transport to the laboratory under Chain of Custody protocol <br /> These samples were submitted to California Laboratory Services (Department of Health <br /> ' Services Certification No 1233) of Rancho Cardova, California, for analysis The samples <br /> were analyzed for <br />
