I
See Figure 3 for cross section locations.
The borehole logs are included in Appendix C.
HydMeoloev
The site's proximity to the Port.1 of Stockton suggests that tidal influence may affect
groundwater quality and/or direction at the site. See the maps in Appendix E.
The groundwater elevations observed in the water table wells ranged from
g approximately -5
to -12 .feet mean sea level (MSL) since April 1999. This corresponds to a depth to
i groundwater of 13 - 18 feet below grade surface(bgs). The groundwater gradient is relatively
flat and horizontal gradient measurements for the site ranged from 0.0003 to 0.008 ftift
during the 1999—2008 monitoring period.
The direction of groundwater flow11as varied during the course of the investigation. As
evident in Figure 10: Groundwater Gradient Rose Diagram, groundwater exhibited a strong
bifurcated flow regime in 2000, trending predominantly to the.soutli_west or-nortli northeast at
approximately.180-degree direction reversal. Since the installation of wells MW-7 and MW-
10 in May 2001,the direction has been predominantly to the riorthe s The site is quite close
to the San Joaquin River/Port of Stockton and tidal fluctuations may contribute to some of
the observed changes in groundwater direction.
Vertical gradients have been calculated for the MW-9/109 well pair during the investigation.
The direction of groundwater in the vertical plane has been negative or downward for all
I a
