W. HAYES FACILITY), 2005 NAVY DRIVE, STOCKTON,
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY(RB #390659)
The Public Participation Period ended 22 June 2012 with no comments received by this
agency. In order to continue the closure process, monitoring well destructions are
necessary to prevent infiltration of petroleum hydrocarbons into the aquifer.
Please submit a work plan for well destructions (Workplan) by 30 September 2012,
written in accordance with the San Joaquin County Well Standards (Standards). You
may contact Nuel Henderson at (209) 468-3436 with your questions on their Standards.
The Workplan shall include drilling logs of all wells to be destroyed, a figure with a site
plan with the locations of the monitoring wells, and a table showing the last monitoring
well results (all contaminant detections are to be included in the table). The Workplan
shall be uploaded into the State Water Resources Control Board's GeoTracker website
with all of the above required components.
After I have reviewed and approved the Workplan in my next directive letter, you will be
given 90 days to complete the well destructions and to submit a well destruction report
(Report). If you cannot comply with the above directive to destroy wells and submit the
Report within 90 days, then within two weeks of the date of Workplan approval letter,
you will submit a new schedule for well destructions with an explanation for the delay.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, you can contact me at (916) 464-4615
or I can be reached by e-mail at jbarton cni waterboards.ca.gov.
/s/original signed by
James L.L.
