I
Report-Groundwater Invest.,sation
First Student Bus Facility(Former A.W. Hayes Facility)
2005 Navy Drive—Stockton, CA
The groundwater samples were collected using new disposable bailers and transferred
into appropriate containers provided by the analytical laboratory. The collected samples
were labeled with a sample identification number, date, time, sampler's identification and
requested analysis, and placed into an ice cooled chest with a completed Chain-of-
Custody.
Groundwater Flow Direction and Gradient
The groundwater flow direction and gradient were determined using current sounding
measurements. The groundwater flow direction measured beneath the Site is
approximately north 45° west with an average gradient of 0.0015 ft/ft. Elevations for
groundwater encountered in each of the monitoring wells are summarized in Table 2, and
the groundwater flow direction at the Site is illustrated on Figure 2— Site Plan.
E. LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
The three (3) groundwater samples collected during this investigation(MW-1, MW-3 and
MW-4) were transported at 4° C, under standard Chain-of-Custody procedures, to a State
certified laboratory- California Laboratory Services, Inc. located at 3249 Fitzgerald Road
in Rancho Cordova, California.
The three (3) groundwater samples collected from the monitoring wells on November 18,
2008 were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d) by EPA Method
8015M; total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) by GC FID; and volatile
organic compounds (VOCs) by 8260B. The Laboratory Analytical Reports and Chain-
of-Custody documentation for the groundwater samples are included in Appendix C.
Groundwater laboratory test results are presented below in Table 4.
Table 4-Groundwater Sampling Anal tical Results November 18,2008)
Sample TPH TPH 1,1 Cis-1,2 Trans-1,2- Vinyl
Identification Diesel Gas Dichloroethene Dichloroethene Dichloroethene Chloride
MW-1 ND ND 4.2 ug/L 1100 ug/L 94 ug/L 1.2 ug/L
MW-3 ND ND ND ND ND ND
MW-4 ND I ND ND 5.6 u L 1.2 ug/L ND
ug/L—microgram/Liter(parts per billion)
ND—Not detected at concentrations greater than the method detection limit(MDL)
7
