1.6 and 0.76 ppb, respectively. Aside from these common fuel constituents, a number of solvents
have been detected in water samples from MW-1, MW-2, and MW-4. The solvents include
chloroethane, dichloroethene(DCE),and trichloroethene(TCE). Concentration of these compounds
range from 0.86 to 730 ppb. As evident on Table 2, the California Maximum Contaminant Level
(MCL) for DCE is exceeded in Wells MWA, MW-2, and MW-4.
CONCLUSIONS
The purpose of this current investigation has been to gather additional information regarding the
horizontal and vertical extent of contaminants detected during earlier work at the site. Both soil and
groundwater testing have revealed no detectable gasoline or diesel in any of the monitor wells; this
indicates that a"zero line"for these compounds has been determined. However, chlorinated solvents
are detectable in three of the four wells. MW-3 is the only well which tests "clean" for all target
compounds, indicating a zero line has been established to the south only, for both fuels and solvents.
Once you have had a chance to complete your review of these findings, please contact us with your
comments so we can advise our client.
LIMITATIONS
Our work has been performed in accordance with the care and skill normally exercised by similar
professionals currently practicing in the same general locality under similar conditions. Our
conclusions are our opinions based upon our observations and the chemical data.
