In that regard facility nsmageuunt bas prepared a Fire Prevention Plan that is included as Evbibit(a)to this <br /> Response Plan. <br /> 2. Reporting: Aay fire or explosion should be reported immediately to the local fire department or by dialing 911. <br /> 3.Fire Fighting Acthities: <br /> a.F'ar'e Department The facility will rely prinmrtlyupon the local fee department far response to a fire or <br /> explosion at the facility. The facility is not equipped,mor,are persoanel named to respond to anything except <br /> the smallest fire.A fire in a hashcm or in a pile of rags could be an example ofa small fire. <br /> b.Facility Fire Fighting Activities: <br /> i.Fite Fighting Equipment: Facility equipment is limited to small,hand-held extinguishers.Properly <br /> rased,these extinguishers can pan out a small tee or control A until the fire department areives. Portable <br /> fire extinguishers are not designed to for huge or spreading fires. <br /> These extinguishers carry notations that indicate which class of fire they can be used to fight. These <br /> notations consist of a series of numbers and letters(ex:2A,2013C)and are fvrtler explained as fo0ows: <br /> • "A": Effective against wood,papa and rubbish Many fee extinguishers have a triangle <br /> soo m odiug the A. The tringle is the international symbol form A type fire. Further,a"BC"mttngeisher may be c#cr ave on a Clary Afire <br /> ii Precautions: Before any effort is made to fight a fire,the individual(s)invoked should male sure of <br /> the following. <br /> • Everyone has left or is leaving the building. <br /> • The fire department has been notified <br /> • Tlie fire is confined to a small area and is not spreading beyond the immediate area <br /> • The individual using the extinguisher has an unobstructed escape rome to%inch the fee will not <br /> spread. <br /> • The individual ,=gig the extinguisher is trained in is proper use. <br /> HL Use of a Portable Fire Extinguisher: There are general guidelines that apply to the use of portable <br /> fee exfingunhers. In general an individual using an extinguisher should stand six to right feet may <br /> from the fire and follow the foaatep PASS procedure.
