PEI/RP1200-17 <br />12. DOCUMENTATION <br />12.1 General. Documentation showing the date and <br />type of testing done to verify spill, overfill, leak detec- <br />tion, secondary containment equipment, shear valve and <br />emergency stop operation should be available for review <br />according to the requirements of the authority having <br />jurisdiction (AHJ). <br />12.2 Purpose. Testers and inspectors shall provide <br />adequate documentation of the services that have been <br />performed on underground storage tank (UST) systems. <br />All test results should include a detailed description of <br />the tests and inspections performed to back up the pass/ <br />fail criteria. This includes but is not limited to: test start <br />and stop times; vacuum levels; liquid levels; data gath- <br />ered while conducting tests and inspections; and photos <br />when applicable. In addition, test and inspection results <br />shall be made available to the responsible persons for the <br />UST systems in a timely manner and within time frames <br />required by the AHJ. Results shall be maintained for <br />appropriate time frames by the tester/inspector as well as <br />by the owner/operator. Electronic data can be maintained <br />indefinitely and should not be discarded. <br />0 pei.org <br />12.3 Procedure. <br />1. Perform test and/or inspection services. <br />2. Document results. <br />3. Review and approve results for accuracy. <br />4. Provide results to customer in accordance with time <br />frames set by the AHJ. <br />5. Store results electronically, and make them easily <br />available for inspection and backup systems <br />accordingly. <br />Sample forms are provided in Appendix C of this <br />document. <br />
