Inspection Report dtd 6/22/98: Arco SS# 2186, 3212 N, -'
California, Stockton
Dear Letitia:
Reference above subject in which you stated that the existing tanks at the
site does not meet 12122/98 UST requirements, because of a Unauthorized
Release Report filed 8;30195. The following are the facts regarding the
UST's at this time.
1 . The tanks and lines are single wall fiberglass installed 911172,
2. The tanks & liness have passed their annual test regularly. The most
recent being on 12/22197 with copies forwarded to Doug Wilson on
2/19/98.
3, The system only lacks positive shut down and overspill boxes to meet
the 12/22/98 UST standards. We will be applying for permits to
install this equipment prior to 12/22198.
The 8130195 Unauthorized Release Report was submitted because soli
contamination was found by our Consultant (Emcon). It is our policy to
perform the sampling when it is possible we may permanently close the
station or return it to the property owner. The release found was not
specific to the UST system...in fact the report states that our recent tank &
line tests on 1/24195 found the system tight.
Since the report was filed our remediation department and environmantal
consultant, Pinnacale, has bean working with Carol 4z, San Joaquin Co.
Env. Health on the findings and on a County Vertical Assessment request
which is common to all water wells in the area). The site has 4 ground
water and 2-3 vapor extraction wells and only water sampling is being
performed at this time. In fact there has been minimal (almost non-existant)
traces of MTBE found in 1 of the water walls; which supports that the tank
& lines are not leaking.
APG-7116
AF, Qvo Pn._...e:,r ra r.a to Yds of ntiXd•krnir ansa (I 0,(4$)
