Tests Befoge Entering <br /> After the entry hole is cut, check the vapor level and 02 level through <br /> the entry hole, <br /> Minimum, entry requirements are: <br /> vapor level less than 10% LEL <br /> 02 level greater than 19.5% <br /> 6 . Confined Space Entry Permit <br /> Complete the attached Confined Space Entry Permit and post near the <br /> entry hole in clear view. <br /> 7. Initial Entry <br /> When the above entry requirements are met, entry may be made with the <br /> use of an air-supplied mask and an Egress air cylinder. <br /> At the first entry of the day, take the meter into the tank and check <br /> for hot spots, If the 0 is less than 19.5% or the vapor level exceeds / <br /> 10% LEL, exit the tai}k and continue ventilating. <br /> Remove any residual product with an approved pumping system or by <br /> manual means. Dry the area with rags or "oil dry" material and have <br /> the contractor dispose of it in a safe place. <br /> Plug internal openings after the initial air check. <br /> A. Manifolded vent lines may be plugged with an expandable plug or by <br /> forcing the ball of a check valve arrangement up tight against the <br /> fitting with wood. <br /> B. Submerged pumps , if not removed, are to be capped at the bottom. <br /> The return line is to be plugged with a cork. <br /> C. Suction and siphon lines are to be capped or enclosed in plastic to <br /> prevent drips . <br />
