Soil Suitability/ Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
Thor Property a Stockton, CA
July 19, 2018 im Terracon Project No. NA187029
poorly drained with high runoff potential and slow permeability. The USDA Soil Survey of San
Joaquin County indicated permeability can be improved by ripping the hard pan layer, increasing
the absorption field, backfilling leachfield trenches with sandy material, and installing long
absorption lines.
The site is depicted on the Geologic Map of California 2010, as within generalized quaternary
Pleistocene and Holocene deposits which are comprised primarily of alluvium, lake, playa, and
terrace deposits; unconsolidated and semi-consolidated. Mostly nonmarine, but includes marine
deposits near the coast.
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
Percolation test boring (P1) is located on the central eastern portion of the site approximately 62
feet north of the southeastern corner of the site and 30 feet west of the eastern fence line.
Percolation test boring (P2)was advanced approximately 40 feet north of the southeastern corner
of the site and 11.5 feet west of the eastern fence line. Refer to Appendix A, Exhibit 2 for the
boring locations.
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
Percolation test boring (P1) was advanced with a 4 inch diameter hand auger and excavated to
a depth of 3.5 feet bgs. Percolation test boring (P2) was advanced using an 8 inch diameter
hollow stem auger and excavated to a depth of 25.0 feet bgs.
1.5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
The following table presents a log of the soil boring.
Table 2.
Summary of Soil Lithology.
Boring Depth Interval (ft) Soil Type Unified Soil
Classification
Sandy Lean clay with
0.0 to 2.0 gravel, fine to medium CL
P1 grained, brown
2.0 to 3.5 Lean clay, brown CL
Sandy Lean clay with
0 to 2.0 gravel, fine to medium CL
P2 grained, brown
2.0 to 25.0 Lean clay, brown CL
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 8
