VEEDER-ROOT Red Jacket
Fuel Delivery Solutions for High-Volume Sites
28-Jan-05 MSR 01- 05-A
Veeder-Root Releases
Red Jacket Variable Speed Flow Controller
1.0 Purpose
This Marketing Sales Release (MSR) announces Red Jacket's Variable Speed Flow Controller. The
Variable Speed Flow Controller is a Veeder—Root designed variable speed drive that operates with the Red
Jacket 2HP variable speed STP.
2.0 Product Description and Overview
The Variable Speed Flow Controller measures and maintains line pressure to meet increase demand for flow
while limiting flow to meet the 10 GPM maximum flow regulation. Line pressure can be set by the user to
maintain a desired pressure and or to calibrate a desired flow rate at a specified nozzle. By measuring
pressure directly the Variable Speed Flow Controller ensures that the desired line pressure is never exceeded.
The Variable Speed Flow Controller uses the Veeder-Root pressure transducer that has proven reliable for use
with Veeder-Root PLLD systems. When used with Veeder-Root PLLD only one pressure transducer is required
to operate both the Variable Speed Flow Controller and to measure line pressure for Veeder-Root PLLD
applications.
Results of Third Party Pressure Comparison of 2HP Variable Speed Pumps
so Red Jacket 2 HP
Variable Speed Flow Red Jacket maintains
°5 Controller directly Line Pressure as
4o measures line pressure demand increases
to determine demand Optimum Flow Rate is
Maintained
ao
20
Available device uses
' — motor load to determine
demand—Flow Rate
' declines as demand
increases
5
o
EMI/RFI Noise Reduction
The Variable Speed Flow Controller is the only variable speed product available that meets FCC Part 15
Subpart J Class A specifications for EMI/RFI noise emissions. Though not required meeting this stringent
specification eliminates the problems variable speed drives available today have been known to cause at
susceptible sites.
