- a
5
J.hlminr/3 Apr 1989
" a WA transmitted the laboratory reports for sail sampling not included in
previous reports. These include soil samples collected on 26 and 27 July
r 1988 and soil samples not previously reported or discussed, which include
soil samples TP-8 and TP-10 collected on 14 March 1988 and soil samples
TP-23 through TP-27 collected on 31 August and 1 September 1988. The
results are presented in Table 1 and the locations are presented in Figure
7. TPH were not detected in samples TP-23 through TP-27, except in TP-26
3 at 4 ppm.
In a proposal to the SJi_HD dated 22 November 1988, P1 requested to
backfill a portion of the excavation. Beginning on 12 December 1986, 80% of
;t the excavation was backfilled, leaving the southern end open for possible
additional work. The facility's 'ire main was also reconnected. In March
5 1989, the storm drain was reconnected.
This summary is presented in order to assemble all information concerning
c5.1
rz the tank excavation and stockpile sampling in one document for ease of review
nd for evaluation of further steps toward closure of the site. We would
like to discuss, at your earliest convenience, a meeting with regulatory
agencies to establish those additional steps.
We are pleased to provide environmental consulting services to Safeway and
look forward to working with you on this project.
Sincerely,
Western Geologic Resources, Inc.
t•
Kathleen A.
