As deta4.1ed in our 13 November 1987 <br /> proposal, the work consisted of: <br /> 1) Removing the backfill from the excavation; <br /> 1 <br /> 2) Stockpiling the backfill on site; <br /> 3) Analyzing samples of native soil adjacent to the excavation; and <br /> 4) Preparing a report. <br /> Project background, descriptions of each task, analytic results, conclusions, <br /> and a proposal for closure of the excavation are discussed below. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> tour 12,000-gallon underground diesel tanks located along the southern <br /> property line adjacent to Navy Drive were removed by PI between 6 July and 10 <br /> August 1987.
