The
first sample will be taken 6 inches below the backfill/native soil interface
and the second will be collected approximately 3 ft below the interface_ The
two shallow samples will be analyzed for THFC by GC/FID at B&C. The deeper
samples of the pairs will be placed on hold pending analytic results from the
initial shallow samples. If hydrocarbons are found in the shallow samples,
analysis of the deeper samples will be needed to determine the extent of
hydrocarbons in soil. If this is necessary, we will prepare an extra scope of
b, work budget.
r
Eight samples will also be collected from each wall of the excavation,
for a total of 32 individual samples. At four locations in each wall, samples
will be collected approximately 6 and 18 inches into the side. Each set of
four 6-inch and 18-inch samples will be composited at B&C. The 6-inch
J
composite samples will be analyzed by GC/FID for TFHC, while the 18-inch
samples will-be held pending results.
To allow timely closure of the excavation, rush turnaround has been
budgeted for analyses.
TASK 3 - REPORT PREPARATION
A report will be prepared following tank excavation closure. The report
will include:
