UST CASE CLOSURE <br /> J <br /> SUMMARY REPORT <br /> Stockton Meat Plant <br /> 1111 Navy Drive <br /> LStockton, CA <br /> This summary report outlines the removal of four underground 12,000 <br /> gallon diesel tanks and the subsequent investigations and remediation of <br /> soils and ground water at the Safeway Stockton Meat Plant located at 1111 <br /> Navy Drive Stockton, California The purpose of the investigations, <br /> remediation, and ground water monitoring activities was to evaluate the <br /> presence of petroleum hydrocarbons reported in the soil and ground water, <br /> remediate the site, and monitor ground water for hydrocarbons The work <br /> has been completed To support the case closure, a risk assessment has been <br /> prepared using the following standard ASTM Risk Based Correction Action <br /> Applied at Petroleum Release Sites (RBCA, (ASTM E-1739)). This report <br /> documents the results of the work and recommends case closure <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located in an industrial area on the north side of Navy Drive <br /> between Argonaut St and Pershing Ave , west of Highway 5, on the western <br /> most portion within the Stockton City limits, as indicated in Figure 1 The <br /> site is level The Port of Stockton Turning Basin is located approximately 3/4 <br /> miles north of the site <br /> The site is in an industrial/commercial business area Surrounding the site <br /> are commercial and industrial business varying from a scavenger company <br /> (Stockton Scavenger) to various leasing, construction, and trucking <br /> companies Cal Water provides domestic water to the site The site is <br /> connected to the City of Stockton wastewater sewer system Two large sewer <br /> pipes (approximately 30 and 48 inches in diameter) are installed and located <br /> in the approximate centerline of Navy Drive These large sewer mains <br /> convey wastewater to the Stockton treatment plant located approximately two <br /> miles west of the site <br />' A meat processing plant is operated on the site An overview of the site is <br /> presented in Figure 2 The focus of this closure report is the underground <br /> tanks, located in the south-central portion of the site Ground water wells <br /> have been installed at the former location of the underground tanks These <br /> wells were installed to monitor ground water quality after the diesel tanks <br /> were removed in 1987 <br /> 1 <br />
